Jenny Ann Masiclat Magcalas is a 41-year-old domestic worker from Angeles City, Pampanga. She is married to a 49-year-old construction worker and a devoted mother to their 13-year-old child. The eldest of two siblings, she comes from a humble family—her father is a tricycle driver and her mother is a housewife. Jenny Ann completed her secondary education through the Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System in 2020 and enhanced her skills by taking vocational courses in Caregiving, Cookery, and Cosmetology. Her early work experience includes working as a sewer in a garment factory (2002–2005 and briefly in 2006). In 2007, she ventured overseas and worked as a domestic helper in Singapore until 2008, serving a Chinese family. She was responsible for general household duties and provided assistance to a 62-year-old elder with diabetes and mobility issues, including escorting her to medical appointments and assisting with daily activities. From 2021 to 2022, she worked locally for a Filipino household, performing full household duties, including child care for a child with special needs and another school-aged child. Currently, Jenny Ann supports her family by doing sewing alterations and selling baked goods like brownies, cupcakes, and egg tarts, while waiting for her application abroad to be processed. With her hands-on domestic work experience both locally and abroad, she is well-versed in household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, ironing, cooking, marketing, and car washing. She can prepare Filipino and basic Chinese dishes and is eager to learn more. As a mother, she is confident in caring for infants and young children, and has experience helping with homework, preparing school needs, and school drop-off and pick-up routines. Her previous employment in Singapore is verifiable through MOM records, and she is eligible for faster deployment as she is exempt from training and OWWA seminar, needing only to complete POEA processing for Filipino Household Service Workers.
